What they tend to argue

  • Frequent use of crew-availability framing โ€” note that crew shortage is generally within the airline's control.
  • Watch for sterling amounts applied to EU-departing flights, where euro amounts may be correct.

Claim it yourself first

  1. Write to easyJet quoting the article. “I am claiming under Article 7 for a delayed arrival on [flight] on [date].” Free, and you keep the whole amount. Use the template.
  2. Give them 28 days and diary the deadline.
  3. Refuse a voucher offered in place of cash.
  4. Escalate free to UK Civil Aviation Authority if they refuse.
  5. Only then consider a claims service.

On short-haul European claims this is the cheaper of the two services. Doing it yourself costs nothing and keeps the full amount — use a service once you have hit a wall.
